Why did my doctor stop prescribing my medication?

Some reasons a doctor may stop prescribing medication are if:

  • Your condition improves. You may no longer need to take it.
  • You are having drug interactions. This means your medication may not be working well with another medication you take. Your treatment plan may need to be changed.
  • You are experiencing unpleasant side effects.
  • Your medication has a high copay or may not be covered by your insurance. Your doctor may try to find a different medication to replace that one.

Your doctor will explain why they stopped prescribing you a medication. They can answer any questions or concerns you may have.
