Your Guide to Medicare Open Enrollment
Medicare Open Enrollment is from October 15 to December 7 each year. During this time, you can review your Medicare coverage and make changes for next year. Any changes you make will start on January 1.
It is a good idea to review your insurance plan each year during Medicare Open Enrollment. This can help make sure your coverage still meets your health and medication needs.
Things to Review When Comparing Medicare Plans
As you compare Medicare plans, it can be helpful to think about:
- Your medications: Make sure your plan covers the medications you take.
- Your pharmacy: Check that your pharmacy is in the insurance plan’s network.
- Your doctors: Ensure your healthcare providers are covered by the insurance plan.
- Your costs: Review the amount you may need to pay. This can include monthly premiums, copays, and deductibles.
Where to Get Free Medicare Help
You don’t have to review your Medicare options on your own. These free resources can help:
- Use Medicare’s Plan Finder: Compare plans available in your area and review your coverage options.
- Get one-on-one Medicare counseling: Your State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) can help you understand your Medicare options.
- Call 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227): Speak with a Medicare representative about your coverage or plan options.
ExactCare cannot recommend which Medicare plan is right for you. We are always happy to answer questions about your medications and ExactCare Pharmacy services.
