No Additional Cost to You
Our services, including packaging and home delivery, are provided at no additional cost. You are responsible only for your regular prescription co-payments, which are similar to or the same as a retail pharmacy.
ExactCare accepts most major insurance plans, including Medicare Part D, Medicaid and private-pay insurance. We bill your insurance company directly, making the process as easy as possible for you.
ExactCare offers competitive prices on over-the-counter medication and supplements not covered by your insurance.
What Our Patients Are Saying
No. We fill the prescription exactly as it is written by your doctor. If you prefer a brand name medication, please request that from your doctor. Some insurance companies mandate generic medications or limited brand names, which is not within our control. In such cases, there may be an additional out-of-pocket co-pay required to dispense a specific brand.
Yes. We partner with an organization called Diabetic Care Services (DCS) to provide supplies such as test strips, lancets and glucose meters. DCS manages the delivery and billing of these specific diabetic supplies, so patients will receive a separate bill and shipment for these items only. ExactCare does dispense insulin from our pharmacies.
We can fill prescriptions for antibiotics, but due to the nature of these prescriptions (e.g., immediate need, short duration of treatment), we often encourage patients/caregivers to fill these at their local pharmacy. Under most circumstances, antibiotics will not be packaged in the ExactPack, as they are usually prescribed for a limited number of days or based on the onset of certain symptoms.
Yes. We can provide these at the patient’s request. Those taken regularly can be packaged in the ExactPack, while others can be included in the monthly shipment in bottles. Our pharmacists will work with the patient to determine the best method. In many cases, vitamins and OTC items are not covered by insurance, so before filling, we will contact the patient to confirm pricing and payment information.
An ExactCare representative typically will contact you within 24-48 business hours of receiving your information to schedule an assessment. Typically, assessments are completed within one week of making contact with you.
The home assessments are not clinical visits. These are conducted by ExactCare Pharmacy community liaisons, a group that includes nurses, certified pharmacy techs and licensed social workers.
You will be given an overview of how our program works and what to expect. Our reps also work with you to complete standard onboarding processes, such as confirming insurance and reviewing patient responsibilities, provider responsibilities, privacy/HIPAA policies and other company policies. We then gather a complete list of your medication and over-the-counter items you’d like included in your shipment.
No. We provide the in-home assessment at no charge as an added benefit to you and your caregivers.
One of things that makes ExactCare unique is the home assessment. This helps ensure we obtain the most complete and accurate list of medications, enabling us to work efficiently with your physicians to verify and transfer your prescriptions and begin service. There are times, however, when a phone assessment may be a better fit for a patient. In all cases, we work one-on-one with the patient to accommodate his/her needs.
Our goal is to deliver the first shipment soon as possible; this typically takes about 7-14 business days. However, it can take longer based on number of prescriptions, number of prescribing doctors and complexity of the medication regimen. Usually, an ExactCare representative will contact you a few days following the home assessment to provide an estimated date of delivery for the first shipment. This is called your “start date.”
Centralizing your medication into our pharmacy and synchronizing the refill cycles often requires a transition period during which some pills are not included in the ExactPack. This is due to prescriptions previously being filled at different times during the month and sometimes at different pharmacies. The date of the last refill will determine if we are able to include a medication in the first pack. If we are not, you should still have a supply of that medication on hand and continue to take it as directed. Medication synchronization (aligning the refill dates on all prescriptions) generally takes 1-2 months.
It typically takes 1-2 months beforeyou’re your medications are on the same refill cycle, but it could take longer. It depends on when your prescriptions were last filled and the quantities last filled (e.g., 30 days versus 90 days). Once refills are synchronized, all of your routine medications can be included in the ExactPack.
Please call ExactCare to discuss your options. We will work with you to ensure you have the medication you need. We may already have a shipment on its way to you, be able to send you a short supply of your medication, or determine that filling at a local pharmacy is the best short-term solution. Consulting with us is key, as simply filling at a local pharmacy can potentially lengthen the time it takes to align your medication refills and/or start service.
We provide 30-day medication supplies using the ExactPack adherence packaging. Providing a 30-day supply provides more flexibility, particularly when serving high-risk medically complex patients. This method enables us to quickly accommodate any needed medication changes. If covered by insurance, 90-day supplies can only be provided in vials.
Our primary—and recommended—method of packaging is the ExactPack. However, we are always willing to work with you to accommodate your needs. This includes considering alternate packaging such as blister packs and bottles, when appropriate.
We provide a 30-day supply of medication in the ExactPack. Due to insurance billing limitations, we cannot set up weekly shipments.
We can provide the packs in Spanish. If you or a loved one needs the ExactPack in another language, please contact the pharmacy to discuss options.
You should receive your medication on a regular cycle. Upon request, we can schedule a phone call prior to delivery or provide a tracking number to monitor the shipment.
We package every shipment in a discreet, unmarked package, so it looks like any other box that might be delivered to your home. There’s no way to tell from the outside of the box what it contains.
We can deliver to an alternate address as long as you notify us in advance. This might includes instances when you are traveling or when you’d like the shipment left with a neighbour.
ExactCare accepts most Medicare Part D, Medicaid and commercial insurance plans. We do not accept Humana Medicare, VA or 90-day mail order prescription plans.
You should have the same co-pay for a 30-day supply as you would for a 30-day supply at a retail pharmacy.
We can run test claims with your insurance to provide you with up-to-date copay information.
Please notify us immediately if your insurance changes. We can run test claims to provide updated copay information, if necessary.
We are happy to work with self-pay patients. We simply need a credit card on file, which will be run prior to the first shipment.
Patients typically receive an invoice for copays and non-prescription medications 5-7 days after delivery. Patients have 30 days to pay the bill—instead of having to pay all at once at a retail pharmacy.
ExactCare accepts check, money order or credit card payments. Cash is not an accepted form of payment. Patients can put a credit card on file for monthly charges. All information is kept secure and confidential.
We partner with Diabetic Care Services to provide diabetic supplies such as test strips, lancets and glucose meters. Diabetic Care Services is a separate company and bill you directly for these items.
I love your service! I always enjoy speaking to everyone who works hard to make sure my medication is received on time. With each call my experience is more than pleasant. It touches my heart.
Thank you for doing such a wonderful job! My medication is always on time, and when I call to ask for something you always deliver! I love working with ExactCare and am so glad I made the switch.
I am very happy with your service. I really like that I speak to the same people every time I call. It's a lot easier speaking to one person instead of having to re-explain things every time.
